Bulk generators include residential apartments (10 units and above), institutions, commercial, or public entities which generate 100 kg and more wet waste per day.
Segregation at source in three categories namely biodegradable (wet) waste, Non- biodegradable (dry) waste and domestic hazardous (includes sanitary) waste is mandated. Waste generators cannot mix waste streams.
Bulk waste generators are responsible for handling the biodegradable (wet) waste onsite by composting or bio methanation and handover the non-biodegradable (dry) waste and domestic hazardous waste including rejects to the authorized agency.

Open dumping/ burning/burying of wastes is strictly prohibited on the streets, public spaces or vacant sites and is a punishable offence.
Bulk generators can engage the services of empanelled agencies (including Zero Landfills Waste Management Pvt. Ltd) on mutually agreed upon terms.
